Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber honored John McAllorum as a Life Chamber Member at its June 9 breakfast meeting at the Belle Haven Country Club. McAllorum has been a member of the chamber since 1981. He was the owner of Lakewood Realty on Richmond Highway until it was purchased by Coldwell Banker. He then managed the Coldwell agency for 15 years. He served as president of the chamber in 1991. He was also a licensed instructor for Realtors.
The chamber honor is awarded to less than one percent of the membership who have distinguished himself in service to the chamber, his profession, and in public affairs.
The guest speaker at the breakfast was technology and marketing expert D.J. Saul of iStrategyLab.
New member added: Richard and Carol Lowy, owners of Richard Carroll, a gift, women’s clothing variety store at Belle View Boulevard Shopping Center.
