Blood Donation Drive at Madison High

— On Oct. 31, Madison HS held its semi-annual blood drive in conjunction with INOVA. The Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) club helped to organize and run the eight hour event, turning the school’s multi-purpose room into a clinic for the day. Both faculty and students were invited to donate blood and the school collected blood from more than 140 donors that day. Students ages 16 and older were permitted to donate, with the permission of a parent. A total of 119 blood products were collected to include 12 gallons of whole blood, as well as 6 units of Plasma and 2 Units of Platelets.
