10,000th Kilowatt of Solar in Arlington

Photo Contributed

Potomac Solar Co-op members worked with VA SUN and the Arlington Initiative to Rethink Energy (AIRE) to learn about solar energy. The group recruited more than 250 members, nearly 50 of whom have gone solar so far. The Potomac Solar Co-op is part of a larger network of solar co-ops across Virginia through VA SUN, and nationally through Community Power Network. This month, Community Power Network announced that its members have installed more than 10,000 kilowatts of solar. In total, these co-ops have helped more than 1,500 people go solar. The photo was taken at the home of Bonnie Beckett, an Arlington resident and a member of the Potomac Solar Co-op.
