Wild Horse and Burro Adoption April 21-22

The Bureau of Land Management will be hosting an adoption event for a variety of wild horses and burros at the Meadowood Special Recreation Management Area in Lorton on April 21 and 22.

— The Bureau of Land Management will be hosting an adoption event with a variety of wild horses and burros at the Meadowood Special Recreation Management Area in Lorton on April 21 and 22.

Horse trainer Suzanne Myers and one of her own adopted mustangs will be available to demonstrate techniques for training and “gentling” non-domestic horses.

Adoption applications will be accepted on site beginning Friday at 12 p.m., through Saturday. The horses and burros may be previewed Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Adoptions will take place Friday from 12 to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Bureau of Land Management site is located at 10406 Gunston Road in Lorton.
