The event was held in the cafeteria at Madison HS where students worked in groups or teams to learn how to code.

The Girls United and DECA clubs at Madison High School joined forces to host the Madison Give-Back-a-Thon. Participants registered for the event to learn basic computer coding, working towards building a website or app by the end of the day. Seventeen different groups of students worked with local business members and teachers during the 12 hour event. Both lunch and dinner were free for the participants, as Willard’s BBQ and Annie Minkler donated the funds to cover the food for the event. Garai Orthodontics, Teoco and Stemree Education also sponsored the event. More than $3,000 was raised at this one day event and will be donated directly to Girls Learn in Zambia
