Sculpture Now 2017 Exhibit Opens in McLean

McLean Project for the Arts (MPA) and the Washington Sculptors Group (WSG) will open a new exhibition, Sculpture Now 2017, on Feb. 2, 2017 at MPA@ChainBridge (1446 Chain Bridge Road, McLean). This juried exhibition includes sculpture in many different forms and permutations, and offers a sampling of works by artists from throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond. The Opening Exhibition Reception will take place Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017 at MPA@ChainBridge from 7 until 9 pm. Participating artists include: Linda Agar-Hendrix, Lynda Andrews-Barry, Lisa Battle, Burton Blistein, Janet Brome, Ann Citron, Irene Clouthier, Tory Cowles, Mary Early, Annie Farrar, Mary Annella Mimi Frank, Pamela Gwaltney, Malcom Hally, Artemis Herber, Susan Hostetler, Monroe Isenberg, Penny Jacoby, Joanne Kent, Jeremy Thomas Kunkel, Jin Lee, Liz Lescault, Yue Li, June Linowitz, Jon Lundak, Grant McFarland, Sara Parent-Ramos, Jane Pettit, Barrett Ripin, Jean Sausele Knodt, John A Schaffner, Tatyana Schremko, Casey Snyder, Gil Ugiansky, Elizabeth Vorlicek, Jonathan Weiner, Julie Wills, and Roy Ysla. Sculpture Now 2017 is organized by the Washington Sculptor’s Group and is juried by MPA Exhibitions Director and Curator Nancy Sausser. “Sculpture Now offers the public an opportunity to experience a wide range of up-to-the-moment artwork, including three-dimensional freestanding sculpture, wall-hung and ceiling-hung installations, abstract construction, and more,” said Sausser. “Many different mediums, methods and topics are explored.” Sculpture Now also features the Rooney Prize, an honorarium awarded by the juror to the artist/artist team whose work reflects the best qualities for the overall WSG Sculpture Now 2017 show. Sculpture Now will be on display at MPA@ChainBridge through March 4, 2017. MPA@ChainBridge is located in the Chain Bridge Corner Shopping Center in the space between CVS and Kazan Restaurant.
