Great Falls Senior Center to Host Laura M. Elliott

The Great Falls Senior Center will welcome Laura M. Elliott as the guest speaker for a March 21 event. The New York Times best-selling author, who lives in Virginia, graduated from Wake Forest University and holds a Master’s in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Elliott is most known for her World War II trilogy: “Under A War-Torn Sky,” its sequel “A Troubled Peace” and companion “Across A War-Tossed Sea.” Her novels are historical fiction requiring extensive research on settings, characters, and events described.

She has also authored five picture books for children with the New York Times best-selling illustrator Lynn Munsinger. A long-time senior writer for the Washingtonian magazine, she was twice a finalist for the National Magazine Award and a recipient of numerous Dateline awards.

The March 21 event will be held at the Great Falls United Methodist Church, 10100 Georgetown Pike, Great Falls, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and includes lunch prepared by the Great Falls United Methodist Church.
