Alexandria resident Lt Col Alexis N. Stackhouse was awarded the Purple Heart on Nov. 14 by Air Force Lt. Gen.l Jeffrey L. Harrigan for wounds received in action during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Stackhouse is active in her community and the Alexandria Bar Association where she serves as the chair of the Criminal Justice Practice Group. She is also the Virginia State Bar Chair of the Military Law Practice Group. She is married to Ramon D. McMillan, and the mother of 9-year-old son, Alex Zhi McMillan.
