INCIDENTS

Suspicious Vehicle -- 200 Block Pleasant Street, SW Between Aug. 4, 3:30 p.m. and Oct. 22, 10:40 a.m. A resident reported a suspicious vehicle that regularly parks in front of their house.

Destruction of Property -- 100 Block Beulah Road, NE Oct. 15 between 7:45 a.m. and 7:50 a.m. A resident reported that an emotionally disturbed person kicked his vehicle and damaged it. The victim was advised on the process of obtaining a warrant for the destruction of his property. The emotionally disturbed person was transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Trespassing -- Anita’s Restaurant 521 Maple Avenue, East Oct. 18, 6:23 a.m. An employee requested police assistance with a subject that was found sleeping inside the restroom. The subject was officially trespassed from the property and left the premises without further incident.

Fraud -- 100 Block Patrick Street, SE Oct. 18 12 p.m. An elderly resident received a call from someone claiming to be from the Social Security Administration, stating that her social security number had been compromised and that a vehicle registered to her had been located in another country, containing illegal drugs. The resident was asked to verify her name, date of birth and social security number, which she did. The caller then asked the victim to verify her credit card and bank account details, which the victim did not do because the bank name provided was not correct and she got suspicious. The victim called her son and learned that it was a scam.

Open Door/Window -- 300 Block Charles Street, SE Oct. 19 8:53 a.m. Officers responded to a report of an open door. Officers searched the residence and did not locate anyone.

Arrest – Attempted Unlawful Entry & Drunk In Public -- 100 Block Saint Andrews Drive, NE Oct. 20 between 12:50 a.m. and 1 a.m. A resident reported that a man attempted to enter their home by pulling on a glass sliding door and telling the homeowner to come outside. The resident refused, and the subject got belligerent and started to yell profanities. The subject left the scene prior to police arrival but was quickly located in the area by an officer. During the interaction with officers, it was obvious that the man was extremely intoxicated. Officer Borja arrested the 37-year-old man from Willow Forest Court in Clifton, and transported him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with Drunk In Public & Attempted Unlawful Entry. The man was given a $2,000 unsecured bond and remanded into the custody of the Fairfax Deputies.

Arrest - Driving While Intoxicated -- Roland Street, SW / Nutley Street, SW Oct. 20, 2:48 a.m. PFC. Williams observed a driver commit traffic infractions and initiated a traffic stop. Upon the officer’s interaction with the driver, he detected signs of impairment. After the driver failed to complete a series of field sobriety tests successfully, he was placed under arrest. He was transported to the Vienna Police Station, where he provided a sample of his breath for analysis. PFC. Williams transported the 30-year-old man from Banshire Drive in Herndon, to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

Death Natural -- 300 Block Plum Street, SW Oct. 20, 9:51 a.m. Officers were dispatched to a residence to investigate the recent death of an elderly resident. The Officers’ investigation determined that it was from natural causes.

Animal Case -- 1100 Block Cottage Street, SW Oct. 20 between 3:55 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Officers were requested to the residence to assist with an injured deer in the backyard. After checking on the welfare of the deer, it was determined that it needed to be euthanized.

Juvenile Case -- Meadow Lane, SW Oct. 21, 8 a.m. Officers responded to the report of a small child found wandering on the street. After investigating the incident, officers reunited the child with his mother.

Police Service -- 600 Mill Street, NE Oct. 21, 9:45 a.m. A Town of Vienna Parks and Recreation employee requested police assistance while a campsite that had been set up in Town of Vienna property was removed.

Larceny Petit -- Whole Foods 143 Maple Avenue, East Oct. 21 between 2:30 p.m. and 2:35 p.m. A resident reported that her wallet went missing while she was inside the store. The resident also advised that her credit card company told her that someone had attempted to use her credit card at a different retail store.

Assist Fire/EMS -- Vienna Police Department 215 Center Street, South Oct. 21, 5:59 p.m. While talking with a resident that came into the Vienna Police Station for some information, officers noticed that the resident was possibly in need of medical assistance. Medics responded to the Vienna Police Station transported the resident to a nearby hospital in a stable condition for further evaluations.

Suspicious Vehicle -- 400 Block Center Street, North Oct. 21, 6:33 p.m. A resident reported a juvenile riding a loud motorcycle by his house and the Washington & Old Dominion Trail. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the juvenile.

Death Natural -- 400 Block Plum Street, SW Oct. 22, 10:19 a.m. Officers were dispatched to a residence to investigate the death of an elderly resident. The Officers’ investigation determined that it was from natural causes.

Arrest – Drunk In Public -- 1000 Block Tapawingo Road, SW Oct. 22, 12:23 a.m. Officer Colligan was dispatched to a subject repeatedly ringing the doorbell to multiple residences. The suspect was located lying on the ground on a sidewalk. While speaking with the subject officers determined that he was drunk and unable to care for himself. The 21-year-old man from Greenkeepers Court in Reston, was arrested and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with Drunk In Public.

Police Service -- Vienna Police Station 215 Center Street, South Oct. 22, 12:47 p.m. A resident turned in ammunition for destruction.

Open Door/Window -- 700 Block Upham Place, NW Oct. 23, 6:29 p.m. Officers responded to reports of a dog at large. A neighbor found the dog before police arrival. The dog had escaped through an open door at the house. Officers searched the house to ensure nothing had been disturbed and placed the dog back inside.

Juvenile Case -- Anita’s Restaurant 521 Maple Avenue, East Oct. 23, 8:17 p.m. An employee requested police assistance with a juvenile that was sitting in front of the restaurant. The juvenile left the restaurant before police arrived. Officers located the juvenile at a nearby CVS pharmacy. The parents and juvenile were later reunited.

Solicitor -- 200 Block Pleasant Street, SW Oct. 24, 11:03 a.m. While on routine patrol Sgt Kiley witnessed a man soliciting driveway repair work without a Town of Vienna license. The 30-year-old man from Randal Park Boulevard in Orlando, Fla. was issued a citation for Soliciting Without a License.

Property Found -- Maple Avenue, East / Glyndon Street, SE Oct. 24, 8:35 p.m. A resident turned in a found cell phone.
