<sh>13 Deputies Graduate from Academy

On Friday June 21, 13 Loudoun County Sheriff's Deputies graduated from the 106th session of the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Academy's Combined Basic Deputy Sheriff/Law Enforcement School. The 24-week program for deputy sheriff's and police officers from the Northern Virginia area covered every phase of law enforcement principles and procedures. The graduates are now state certified in basic law enforcement,

The Sheriff's Office recruits took eight of the top 10 spots in the class ranking in the Combined Deputy Sheriff's School with several recruits receiving honorable mention. Deputy Stephen Augustine received the top award for being first in his class with Deputies Sean Stevens placing third and Brian Zumstein placing fifth overall. Deputy James Notta, Jr. received the top award in the Basic Law Enforcement School. Deputy Notta also placed first in the physical training and second in the firearms portions of the session.
