The South Lakes High School Jazz Band will be hosting a fund-raising dinner on May 17 at the Reston Community Center. Familiar jazz songs such as "Night Train," "Green Onions" and "Pink Panther" will be performed with trumpet and saxophone soloists. The dinner starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $17 per person. The Environmental Quality Advisory Council of Fairfax County is seeking applications from high school students who are interested in serving on the council as the student member from July 2002 through July 2003. As a member the student will get the opportunity to be involved in the process of making decisions and recommendations that impact the environment in the county. Those interested in serving on the committee can call 703-324-1210 before May 1.
Appalachian Spring is hosting a fundraiser for South Lakes High School's All Night Graduation Party. A portion of all sales on May 4 and 5 will be donated to the All Night Graduation Party. Stop by Appalachian Spring that weekend to stock up on wedding, graduation and Mother's Day gifts. Appalachian Spring is located in the Reston Town Center and will be open Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday noon to 6 p.m.
