A memorial service for Winifred Rosetta Burns will be held at 11 a.m., June 7, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Moorings Drive in Reston. She died, at 76, on March 22, 2003.
A Reston resident for 26 years, she was born Aug. 20, 1926 to Charles Henry Chappell and Rose Palmer Chappell in Windsor, Canada. She was predeceased by Walter R. Burns, her husband of 58 years. She was the loving mother of Walter C., Rosemary Chartrand and Robert C. Burns. For 16 years, she was employed by the Fairfax County Public School system.
Final interment will be at Victoria Memorial in Windsor, Canada. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospices of the National Capital Region.
