Missing Adult Male Sought

Fairfax County Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating Aaron Turner, a 27-year-old man. Turner, who suffers from a mental illness, was reported missing by his family when they did not hear from him for about two weeks. His primary residence is in Southeast Washington, D.C., but he has relatives on Richmond Highway in Fairfax County and Fort Washington in Prince George's County, Md.

Turner is described as black, 5-feet, 3-inches tall, 130 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a gray shirt, and blue Converse tennis shoes. Arrest Made in Machete Attack

Fairfax County Police detectives arrested a 17-year-old Alexandria area teenager in relation to the May 10 machete attack on Edsall Road where a 16-year-old Alexandria area teenager was assaulted with a machete and had both of his hands mutilated. The assault came after the victim became involved in a confrontation with several other young males in the 6400 block of Edsall Road in the Alexandria area.

The teenager was arrested on Tuesday, June 15, and was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and participation in gang activity. The investigation is continuing and additional suspects are being sought.

Lorton Man Assaulted

A 19-year-old Lorton area man was assaulted in the Newington Forest area of Fairfax County while in his car last week at approximately 8:30 p.m.

While the victim was driving in the 8100 block of Newington Forest Avenue, a man walked to the driver's side of his car and struck him on his left eye with an unknown blunt object. The motorist was able to drive away to a nearby gas station to call the police. The victim was later transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital and treated for a serious injury to his eye.

The suspect was described as black, between 18 and 20 years of age, 5-feet. 10-inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131 or Fairfax County Crime Solvers at 1-800-673-2777.

Man Arrested for Purse Snatching

A 21-year-old Alexandria area man, who assaulted a 66-year-old woman during a purse snatching, has been arrested. The Alexandria area woman was walking in the 8000 block of Pantano Place in the Hybla Valley area on Thursday, May 6, at 9 a.m. She was approached from behind by a man who punched her twice in the face, pushed her to the ground, and stole her purse. She was transported to Inova Mount Vernon Hospital with non- life threatening injuries. Investigation by detectives determined Brian Coleman, of 7928 San Leandro Place in the Hybla Valley area, was responsible for the robbery. He was arrested and charged with one count of robbery. He was released on a $1,000 bond.
