<sh>Old Keene Mill Chicken Out Robbed

<bt>The Chicken Out restaurant in the Old Keene Mill Plaza was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday, Jan. 9.

According to Fairfax County Police, an 18-year-old employee of the restaurant was approached by an unknown man with a knife at approximately 9 p.m., and ordered to go to the rear of the store. A second suspect then entered the store, pointing a gun at two other employees, and made off with cash from one of them. The victims did not suffer any injuries, and both suspects fled the scene on foot.

The suspects are described as Hispanic, approximately 6 feet tall and heavyset. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.

<sh>Indecent Exposure in Springfield

<bt>A 15-year-old Springfield girl was the victim of indecent exposure in the early morning hours of Saturday, Jan. 8.

According to Fairfax County Police, the girl was working on the computer in her home, in the 7700 block of Jewelweed Court, when she heard a knock on the glass door leading to her back yard. When she went to the door, she saw a white man in the yard, exposing himself to her. When police responded, they searched the area with the aid of a helicopter but did not find the suspect.

<bt>The location of the proposed Marriott Residence Inn in central Springfield is not the lot currently occupied by Chi-Chi's restaurant, as reported in the Springfield Connection ["Marriott Coming to Springfield?" Dec. 2-, 2004]. The location is a vacant lot on the other side of the Backlick Road bridge.

The Fairfax County's "Investing in Communities" program is an extension of the Housing and Community Development's Office of Revitalization, not the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, as was reported in the Springfield Connection ["A Look Back at Springfield in 2004," Jan. 6-12, 2005].
