Alliance Theater Presents 'Souls on a Half Shell'

The Alliance Theatre will present a reading of "Souls on a Half Shell," a play in two acts for an adult audience on Friday, Feb. 24.

The play reading will be held at Greenbriar Community Center, located at 4615 Stringfellow Road on Friday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m.

The play was written by Maria Farese Rendine and Sharon Lee O'Brian. It is an original work looking to make it to the big time. Listen to the reading and participate in a lively discussion of the play. The actors who will make up the cast for the reading are Jay Burton, Laurie Burton, Greg Conrad, Shelley Kramer, Terry Mason, Greg Reimer and Kathy Young.

Maria Farese Rendine is an educator, director, writer and actor. Past president of Theatre Arts Directors Association, she has been involved in curriculum writing in language arts, journalism, public speaking and theatre arts.

Sharon O'Brien is a playwright, lyricist, actor, director and educator. She is the author of several educational publications, including "Ready, Set, Sign." Sharon studied at the American Conservatory Theatre and with Robert Ingham, founder of the Long Wharf Theatre.

There will be a silent auction and refreshments. The event is free, although all donations will support The Alliance Theatre's Summer Stars production of "The Wizard of Oz."
