Wellspring celebrates creation and remembers Francis of Assisi this week, with special Celtic music. Wellspring worships at 10 a.m., Centreville Firehouse #17, 5856 Old Centreville Road. Sunday School for children meets during the worship hour, followed by fellowship with fair trade coffee and treats.

Wellspring begins two new groups this month, and welcomes community guests to participate. Meeting in Centreville is a group on spirituality and the arts, exploring faith through visual arts and music. A group in Manassas will build spirituality through discussion and DVD, called “Living the Questions.”

Congregation Yad Shalom, located in Centreville provides a variety of programs in a traditional format with a modern flair. It invites inquiries about participation in these activities by the local community.

St. John's Episcopal Church, Centreville will hold a "Pet Blessing" this Saturday, Oct. 7 from 9-11 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Howard Kempsell, Rector , will lead a brief service and individually bless all pets. Each pet will receive a medal of St. Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of Animals. Pender United Methodist Church Fall flea market and boutique will run from Oct. 12-14 from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. The church is located west of Fair Oaks Mall on the right hand side.

On Saturday, Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m., the Centreville Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is sponsoring a concert of classical music performed by professionally gifted musicians from our area. The concert is to be followed by a reception and art exhibit of works of local painters and sculptors. The "Evening for the Arts" concert and exhibit is open to the public. Centreville United Methodist Church (6400 Old Centreville Road) will be hosting a hymn festival on Monday, Oct. 16 at 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by the American Guild of Organists and led by organist Jeffrey Pannabaker, the festival will include music for organ, choir and a lot of hymn-singing by the congregation. New Life Christian Church is once again launching a Divorce Care Group which will meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30 at Westfield High School (child care provided). Divorce Care is a video-based seminar group for people who are experiencing difficulty with their separation or divorce. Centreville United Methodist is hosting DivorceCare, which meets Thursdays from 7-9 p.m. at Centreville UMC. DivorceCare is a 13-week Christ-centered divorce recovery program which walks participants through the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of someone going through separation and divorce. Temple Beth Torah is a Reform Jewish congregation and member of the Union of Reform Judaism (URJ) that meets at St. John's Episcopal Church in the heart of Centreville. This group uses the 12-step approach coupled with the teachings of Jesus to help overcome or cope with all types of addictions, compulsions and life problems. * Dealing with Divorce — A Divorce Care Support Group. This is a video-based seminar group for people who are separated or divorced. * Healthy Boundaries — Getting Control of Your Life. The group helps the over-stressed, over-worked and over-committed to gain control of their lives through developing healthy, balanced relationships. The group meets at 7:30 p.m. each Thursday at 13777 Laurel Rock Drive, Clifton.

New Life Christian Church is forming a new Grief Share Group for persons who are experiencing the hurt associated with loss of a loved one. The group meets for 12 sessions using a video-based discussion format and is effective in helping survivors deal with the issues faced by persons going through a period of grief.
