Man Killed in Fair Oaks; Woman Charged: DWI

A 23-year-old Pennsylvania man died April 15 at Inova Fairfax Hospital — two days after being struck by a 2005 Lincoln Aviator allegedly driven by a Penderwood woman.

Fairfax County police have already charged that woman, Corbin Flynn, 27, of 12139 Wedgeway Place in Fairfax, with DWI. So far, that's her only charge, but the crash is still under investigation.

The incident occurred Friday, April 13, shortly before 9 a.m., just north of the Fairfax Towne Center. According to police, slightly earlier, two vehicles had been involved in a minor crash in the southbound lanes of West Ox Road near the intersection of Route 50 in Fair Oaks.

The drivers then pulled over and were standing outside their vehicles exchanging information when, say police, "an SUV hit [both of those] vehicles from behind. The SUV then [allegedly] struck both drivers."

Flynn and one of those drivers, a 41-year-old Herndon woman, were taken by ambulance to Inova Fairfax Hospital. The Pennsylvania man, identified as Stephen D. Santoso, was Medivaced there in serious condition and succumbed to his injuries Sunday, April 15, around 11 p.m.

Flynn was treated for minor injuries and released. Following her arrest, she was taken to the Adult Detention Center and later released on $500 bond. She has a June 14 court date.
