The nonprofit initiative of the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce will kick-off 2009 with "Finding Your Way through the Money Maze" Thursday, Jan. 15, 8-10 a.m., at the National Conference Center, 18980 Upper Belmont Place, Lansdowne. The event offers nonprofit executives and board members information on the financial rules, regulations and fund-raising practices that will make them more successful in 2009. The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) reports that Trinity Fitness Center and Spa, located at 45965 Nokes Blvd., closed Dec. 14. Eligible members of this spa who believe they might be due refunds have until April 10 to file claims. Members who believe they are due a refund must contact the VDACS’ Office of Consumer Affairs. Members will be required to provide a copy of their contract, proof of payment and a completed Health Spa Refund Request form, which can be downloaded from www.vdacs.virginia.gov/forms-pdf/cp/oca/healthspas/oca02refund.pdf or call the consumer protection hotline, 1-800-552-9965, then press 1 for a counselor.

Inova Loudoun Hospital will donate $100,000 to the Loudoun Community Health Center to help them reach their current fund-raising goal of $300,000 by the end of the year. The Loudoun Community Health Center provides care for those who are underinsured or uninsured and cannot afford to pay for healthcare.

The United States Army Information Technology Agency has awarded Telos Corporation of Ashburn a task order to provide Defense Message System support at the Pentagon Telecommunications Center. The one-year contract has a potential value of $13 million and has one option year. Telos will assist with integrating, operating and maintaining a single, integrated Defense Message System at three security levels. The Telecommunications Center is the Army’s nerve center in the Pentagon for operating and managing the critical information technology infrastructure related to messaging.

Liberty Hospitality Partners announced that Tami Crane has been appointed director of sales of the new Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel in Leesburg. Crane will direct all areas of the hotel’s sales and marketing efforts. The 91-room hotel, currently under construction, is scheduled to open in June.
