Rainy in Reston
It would be an understatement to say that rain played a part in the Saturday, June 20 Reston Swim Team Association (RSTA) swim meets. As the light rain turned into a torrential downpour, officials were sent scurrying to find their handbooks. The result was that all four meets scheduled for the day were curtailed. As the handbook dictates, during any meet that must be curtailed due to inclement weather, a team must be ahead by at least 50 points to be declared the winner; otherwise, the meet is considered a draw. Two of the meets fell into this category: Autumnwood vs. Newbridge (321-316) and Ridge Heights vs. Lake Newport (313-266). The other meets had clear winners. They were Lake Anne vs. Glade (310-235) and Hunter’s Woods vs. North Hills (324-261).
