Obituary: Harry Clay Hoffman III Lt. Col. U.S. Army (retired)

— Harry Clay Hoffman III, 81, died peacefully of natural causes in Richmond on July 26, 2012.

He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. to Harry and Mary Jane Hoffman of Pottsville, Pa. He served proudly in the U.S. Army for 25 years. He was a dedicated civil engineer in the Army Corps of Engineers and had an MSA from George Washington University. He was a highly decorated veteran, a Green Beret and a true patriot.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou (nee Nuss) Hoffman; five childern, Jane Ann Hoffman, Debra Hoffman-Pahl (husband Richard Pahl) Patty Hoffman, Harry Clay (Mike) Hoffman IV, Barbara Hoffman Nolte (husband Robert Nolte); 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held Aug 2 at 2 p.m., at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Alexandria. Internment at Arlington National Cemetary at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
