— The annual Arlington County Fair was just gearing up on Friday, Aug. 10 for the evening crowd as 60 or more senior citizens walked and then began dancing on the new turf playing field. “I Got a Feeling,” by the Black-Eyed Peas was playing on the amp. In a synchronized motion all of the seniors took up positions on the field and danced for the 8-minute tune. Afterwards the leader, Ms. Virginia Senior America 2012 Kat Fanelli emerged and invited all those watching to join them on the field for an encore.

Fanelli, a dance instructor started six weeks ago holding free dance classes at all of the senior centers in Arlington. “I thought that the seniors would just come out for one class to learn the steps but they kept returning weekly because it was fun,” Fanelli said.
