Melanie Davis, a Jr. Kindergarten teacher at Kiddie Country Developmental Learning Center, was chosen by Fairfax County Preschool Division of Early Childhood Education as one of five community preschool teachers to be honored at the First Annual Exemplary Inclusive Practices Community Preschool Teachers Awards ceremony on May 17. Davis was recognized for her outstanding work with all children including those with special needs. Davis is a veteran preschool teacher who began her career at Kiddie Country 33 years ago. She started out teaching Jr. Kindergarten and then became a School Director, but she missed the classroom so much that she decided to return to her first real love—teaching. Without a doubt, Davis is recognized as a model educator and an advocate of all children. Her bright, positive attitude, passion for teaching, and desire to make a difference in her students’ lives has been her signature and is recognized by all who know her work.

Also at the awards ceremony, Kiddie Country Developmental Learning Center II was presented with a "You Make the Difference" award by FCPS Division of Early Childhood Education.
