A delegation of 24 fitness industry business leaders from Japan recently visited the Mount Vernon Athletic Club.
A cover article in Club Business International magazine on October of 2012 featured Mount Vernon Athletic Club General Manager Aaron Volbrecht who described the leadership and growth that he achieved at the local tennis and fitness club. This exposure prompted the Japanese representative, Tomoko Iwai, to request a meeting with Volbrecht to learn about the services the club offers.
The delegation toured the facility and interviewed Volbrecht on Sunday, March 17, en route to the International Health, Racquet & Sport club Association convention, held in Las Vegas.
Iwai, who is also the editor of Fitness Magazine in Japan, noted how the club is family and community oriented.
The Japanese delegation was impressed with the club’s acquisition of Fitness on Demand — technology that allows the club to offer fitness classes whenever club members choose.
