Mary Francis McKinley, retired teacher, Great Falls “I love the summer, I’ll take the hot over the cold! We do lots of sightseeing in D.C., and since my husband is in the Sons of the American Revolution, we spend our time visiting monuments and cemeteries. We also go to conventions. This summer, I’m going on a roadtrip to Missouri. That’s how you spend the summer, doing things you enjoy.”

Colleen Wade, stay-at-home mom, Great Falls “We go to a neighborhood pool with the kids, and the kids are on swim team. We also go to Ocean City, N.J. every year. The focus is on relaxing—there’s no school, and no schedule.”

Michael Privitera, senior vice president of HSBC Bank, Great Falls “My favorite place to be is probably the shore. We go to the beach with friends in order to relax and get away from the city. We do a lot of things with friends and family, because that’s what is the core.”

Samantha Burns, executive director of state policy for America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), Great Falls “Wolf Trap is always great, and they have a promising line-up this summer. All of a sudden, they have younger and newer acts, which is very different! Now they have stuff I’m interested in seeing, and isn’t repetitive. We’re excited for this year.”
