Lake Braddock Student Honored

JROTC AWARD - Cadet Julio Negron of Lake Braddock High School was presented with the Sons of the American Revolution Bronze Medal during a ceremony held May 28. Negron was also named superior junior class student in the Lake Braddock battalion by the instructor cadre. He will serve next year as the battalion Command Sergeant Major, the top enlisted person in the cadet chain of command. The SAR George Washington chapter also presented Negron with a copy of Colin Powell's book "It Worked for Me: in Life and Leadership" in recognition of his essay on the topic, "How JROTC has prepared me to be a better citizen of the United States." Presenting the award is George Washington SAR JROTC awards chair Jack T. Pitzer (COL, USA-ret).
