Athena Petersen Named Manager of Long and Foster’s Reston Office

Athena Petersen is the new manager of the Long and Foster Reston office.

Long and Foster Real Estate has named Athena Petersen as the new managing broker of its Reston office, located at 1831 Wiehle Avenue. Petersen brings nearly 15 years of real estate sales and management experience to her new leadership position.

“I’m so excited for the opportunity to lead the team of distinguished agents at Long and Foster’s Reston office, and I look forward to sharing my own experiences and real estate knowledge to help them achieve even greater success in the business,” Petersen said. “I’ll miss working with our staff and real estate agents in the Fairfax Centre office, and I’m confident the knowledge and skills I gained there will help me to lead my own team of agents in Reston.”

Petersen most recently served as the sales manager at Long and Foster’s Fairfax Centre office. Petersen developed a formal mentoring program that helped both new and returning agents at the Fairfax Centre office. She also implemented a comprehensive training program to teach agents about the tools and knowledge they need to become successful.

Prior to her leadership role in Fairfax Centre, Petersen built a thriving real estate business. She earned her license in 2002 and joined Long and Foster as a sales associate. She quickly became a top producer in the company and earned membership in its Gold Team.

Petersen is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Information Systems. Petersen her husband, Brett, and her twin daughters reside in Fairfax County, where she has lived for over 19 years. They also have one son who is attending George Mason University.
