Why would NOVABizPAC endorse the candidate who has bragged about being in politics her whole life over the candidate who has built two startups, is a current CEO, and is greatly respected across Northern Virginia’s business community? The answer is actually quite simple.
NOVABizPAC likes to retain a positive relationship with all current lawmakers so that it can more easily persuade them in its lobbying efforts. That’s why they have a policy to endorse incumbents. NOVABizPAC
endorsed Del. Kathleen Murphy not because of what she has done, but because of the position she holds - the result of a close election on a snowy day in January. Had less than two hundred votes swung the other way in that contest, NOVABizPAC would be supporting delegate Craig Parisot, just as they supported candidate Craig Parisot when he and Murphy interviewed for the endorsement in December.
