Reston Community Center Launches Online Learning

Reston Community Center (RCC) has announced the launch of UGotClass, an online learning program featuring more than one hundred non-credit courses and certificate programs that can be used for personal and professional development. By partnering with educational partner, Learning Resources Network (LERN), RCC complements its program offerings to include online courses and certificates in high-demand fields like business, eMarketing and social media for business, the green workplace, health, leadership training and education.

“At RCC, we continue to look for ways to provide our community with convenient and flexible learning opportunities while reducing the barriers of time, place, and cost of travel,” said Eileen Boone, RCC’s Leisure & Learning Director; “eLearning@RCC allows the busy adult who is managing work and family obligations the flexibility to improve on existing skills, add new skills, earn a professional certificate or to retool for new career opportunities from the comfort of their own home, a local library, or an internet café anytime day or night, from any computer.”

The online courses are taught by leading practitioners and teachers, with audio presentations from the teacher and interaction with other participants and the teacher. LERN offers certificates, CEUs, ILUs, and some courses even have optional graduate credit.
