Norwood School, an independent, coeducational school in Bethesda, will add its first pre-kindergarten class beginning in September of 2017. The addition of pre-kindergarten marks the first grade-level expansion since the school transitioned from sixth grade to eighth grade in 1998. Norwood currently serves approximately 440 students in grades K-8.
Norwood’s new pre-K program will launch in September of 2017 with one class of 15
students led by two expert early-childhood educators. The program will offer continued emphasis on creative expression, character and values education, social and emotional learning, hands-on experiences, and communication skills
The pre-K day will follow Norwood’s schedule for grades K-2: 8:05 a.m. arrival and 2:35
p.m. dismissal. Tuition for the 2017-2018 academic year has been set at $20,175. Pre-
kindergarten students will be eligible for financial aid, transportation, early bird arrival, and the after-care program.
