Westgrove Pack, the community sponsors of the Westgrove Off Leash Dog Park, will celebrate the success of the park with a festival and fundraising launch on Nov. 5, 1-4 p.m., to which all dog enthusiasts — and those few who still need convincing — are invited. The dog park is at 6801 Fort Hunt Road, Belle View, south of Belle View Elementary School. “Fall Festival – Unleashed” will feature a chili cook-off, a dog agility demonstration by Mike Tomai, a dog costume competition, local vendors, puppies and more. Funds generated by the festival will be used to help sustain the park’s grass areas, plant shade trees, and help assure the park’s continuing availability for Mount Vernon/Alexandria dog lovers and their canine friends.
