Memorial Day 2019 was recognized with a memorial wreath laying and a presentation at the Burke Centre Conservancy by the VFW Post 5412 and Boy Scout Troop 1345. In attendance were area veterans; U.S. Rep. Gerald Connolly (D-11); Sen. Dave Marsden (D-37); Del. Eileen Filler-Corn (D-41) and Supervisors John Cook (R-Braddock) and Pat Herrity (R-Springfield). Chaplain Gil Gibson led the service, Terry Bradley played "Taps" on the bugle and Jay Coplan sang "Amazing Grace."
