Mount Vernon Crime Report

The following incidents were reported by the Mount Vernon District Police Station.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 7702 Richmond Highway (AT&T), March 18, 1:04 a.m. Officers responded to the store for an alarm. The entrance door was damaged and merchandise was stolen.

BURGLARY: 6000 block of Florence Lane, March 15, 10:06 p.m. Officers were called to a home for an alarm and discovered a broken window. Personal items missing from the home.

BRANDISHING/ASSAULT: 8200 block of Richmond Highway, March 13, 8:05 p.m. A 25-year-old man from Alexandria and a 24-year-old man from Woodbridge, got into a fight with a 29-year-old man and a 36-year-old man, both of Alexandria. All four men were charged with disorderly conduct and one was also charged with assault.

ASSAULT (BIAS CRIME): 7600 block of Richmond Highway, March 13, 10:37 p.m. A man was using his laptop inside of a restaurant when another man started yelling racial slurs at him before displaying a knife and coming towards him. The two men struggled over the knife until police officers arrived shortly thereafter. A 35-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested for attempted malicious wounding.
