Alexandria This fall’s Senior Academy is going virtual via Zoom again, and registration is open for city residents 60+ or those who work in the City of Alexandria. This 4-week free course will meet every Wednesday morning starting Sept. 22 from 10 to 11:30 am and continue Sept. 29, Oct. 6 and Oct. 13.
Each Wednesday morning session will feature speakers including a welcome from Mayor Justin Wilson, presentation by the City Manager’s Office as well as other departments including Transportation, Planning, Office of Housing, Alexandria Health Department and the Division of Aging and Adult Services. Attendees will also hear from our first responders, Police, Fire and Sheriff. The last session will include presentations from the Alexandria Library, Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Activities and the Office of Historic Alexandria.
Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and receive a lot of great information on city programs and services for older adults. It will also provide ways that you can become more engaged in the community and make your voice heard.
