Appalachian Bluegrass Christmas’ Comes to Arts Herndon

Audiences are invited to spend an evening tapping their feet, singing along and hearing Christmas memories during the Appalachian Bluegrass Christmas show presented by Shoestring Theatre Co. It’s one night only – Friday, Dec. 16, at 7:30 p.m. at Arts Herndon, 750 Center St., Herndon.

Tickets are $10 at the door or via https://www.eventbrite.com/e/appalachian-bluegrass-christmas-tickets-462652785937. But seating is very limited, so people are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance.

Performers Dell Pendergrast, Nora Zanger and Angela Castillo will share stories of Christmas in the hills of Virginia. For example, attendees will learn why so many old timers celebrated Christmas on Jan. 6. They’ll also hear about Christmas in the Coal Camps and may even want to board the Santa Train.

“Musical Director Roger Bullock and musicians Hank Lewis and Katherine Graham bring the soul of the mountains to life with Appalachian music,” said Shoestring founder Amelia Townsend. “Audiences will love singing with the performers and enjoying both familiar songs, plus traditional Appalachian tunes.”
