Suspect Sought in Sexual Battery

Around 11:30 a.m. July 3, police responded to the 14500 block of Northeast Place in Chantilly for a sexual battery of an adult woman. The adult victim and her mother were outside when the mother went to a neighbor’s house to knock on the door. A man approached the victim and forcefully grabbed her in an intimate area and then put her in a chokehold. When the victim’s mother ran towards the assault, the suspect fled on foot. Units saturated the area but were unable to locate the man. The victim was not injured during the assault. Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau have been assigned to the case and continue to investigate. Residents and visitors can expect an increased police presence in the area as investigators seek leads.

The man is described as a Hispanic male in his 40’s, tall, medium build, with straight black hair, wearing a black hat, gray shirt, dark pants, and a surgical-style face mask.
