The Vienna Volunteer Fire Department celebrated the purchase of a new fire engine and ambulance recently. Area fire departments joined in to christen the vehicles by giving them a "wet-down," or dousing the vehicles with water. Donations helped the Fire Department to purchase the new fire engine and ambulance, which cost $367,000 and $142,000, respectively.
After the wet-down, families enjoyed the Open House held in the upstairs flame room. Firefighter hats and booklets on fire safety were available for children and interested residents.
