In an effort to assist job seekers and recent high school graduates navigate the job market, The Chubb Institute will provide career building information during their August Open House. The event will be held Tuesday, Aug. 12, from 6-8 p.m. at the Reston campus located at 1741 Business Center Drive.

The Institute will provide details on recent employment trends, its IT, Visual Communications and Medical Administration training programs and various education financing options. Campus tours will also be conducted.

CMSS Architects, PC, of Reston has added R. Randall Vosbeck, Jr., AIA, as director of architecture. Vosbeck brings over 20 years of planning and design experience to the Reston office. His professional portfolio includes corporate headquarters, office buildings, educational facilities and residences in the United States and abroad. He also has extensive experience in research and teaching in the field of architecture. His projects include the renovation of the Pentagon in Arlington; Oracle Corporation's Virginia Campus in Reston; the Lockheed Martin Corporation office building in Chantilly; and the Fair Lakes VII/PEC Solutions office building in Fairfax. His client list includes Spaulding & Slye, Boston Properties, The Peterson Companies, and Greenebaum and Rose. He has worked alongside such contractors as Hitt, Clark Construction, StructureTone, and Centex.

Vosbeck holds a bachelor of science degree in architecture from the University of Virginia, and a master's degree in architecture from the University of California, Los Angeles.

The company has also added Christopher N. Turner as intern architect. Turner has extensive CADD, graphics and construction administration skills. He is currently working on the first of three 19,000-square-foot office condominiums for Buchanan Partners at Heritage Hunt, an active adult community located on 800 acres in Gainesville, Va. His previous experience includes work on office buildings, warehouses, and hospital renovation. He holds a bachelor of science degree in architecture from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Jairo A. Duran has joined CMSS as project manager. Duran's experience is in the design of office buildings, government administrative buildings, banks, hospitals, and multifamily housing in the United States and abroad.

Duran is currently working on masterplanning of the new corporate headquarters for MedImmune, Inc., a biotechnology research and development firm. Final build out will include up to one million square feet of offices, labs, and parking on a 23-acre site in Gaithersburg, Md.

He holds a bachelor of arts degree in architecture from the Universidad Piloto de Colombia, and a master's of art degree in architecture from the University of New Mexico.

Philip D. Quintanilla also joins CMSS as a project manager. His portfolio includes a wide range of building types, most recently residential single- and multi-family developments, primarily in a design-build environment. Quintanilla is currently managing the first of three 19,000-square-foot office condominiums for Buchanan Partners at Heritage Hunt. Prior to joining CMSS Architects, Quintanilla was project architect for Creaser/O'Brien Architects in Gaithersburg, Md., where he was responsible for the design development and construction document production of large townhouses and custom homes. He holds a bachelor of science degree in architecture from Texas Tech University.
