At a dinner on Monday, Jan. 27, the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department (VVFD) installed its 2003 officers. In May 2003, the Department will celebrate its 100th anniversary in Vienna. To commemorate the occasion, the VVFD at its installation presented a stained-glass memorial and a flag marking its birthday. On Saturday, Feb. 1, several VVFD officers and life members flew the 100th anniversary flag for the first time.
The 2003 officers are Howard Springsteen, president; Don Burns, chief; Stan Ellis, treasurer; Genny Aldridge, secretary; Gil Aldridge, vice president; Jeff Gray, EMS lieutenant; Kathy Hurley, board member; Donna Gray, recording secretary; Mike Perudi, board member; John Morrison, EMS captain; and Fred Scimeca, assistant treasurer.
