Welcome to the Springfield Community

Dear Neighbor:

Welcome to Springfield in the Lee District. One of the friendliest and best-located communities in Fairfax County, Springfield blends the best of the past with the promise of the future. We are proud of our area's heritage and work hard to preserve its open, neighborly atmosphere.

Your new community is a vibrant mix of neighborhoods, small family business, convenient shopping centers, parks and recreation centers and excellent schools.

If you are looking for an alternative to driving, the Joe Alexander Transportation Center is conveniently located near Springfield Mall. It includes the Franconia-Springfield Metrorail station (on the Blue line), the Virginia Railway Express (the Fredericksburg line), and Metro and Connector bus service, as well as a Greyhound bus station. You can also hop on a TAGS bus and travel around and through central Springfield.

The Lee District section of Springfield is home to Huntley Meadows Park, one of the largest parks in the Fairfax County park system, as well as many smaller parks for quiet walks or sports activities. The Lee District Recreation Center offers many amenities, including an Olympic-sized pool. During the summer, you can enjoy free outdoor concerts in the beautiful amphitheater at Lee District Park and in the lively Kingstowne Towne Center.

Springfield has outstanding civic and business resources. We are committed to citizen involvement in our community and government and encourage you to become involved. Please stop by the Franconia Governmental Center to say hello and tell us how we can be of service. Our office is at 6121 Franconia Road and the phone number is 703-921-5423. We can also be reached by e-mail at Leedist@fairfaxcounty.gov.
