Community Center To Close for Cleaning

The Herndon Community Center and the facility’s pool area will be sporadically and temporarily closed due to maintenance and cleaning from Aug. 22 to early September, according to a community center release.

The community center’s pool and spa will be closed from Wednesday, Aug. 22 until the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 4, as the pool will undergo resurfacing, which is required every five to seven years. The center will close entirely for cleaning on Saturday, Aug. 25 and from Saturday, Sept. 1 to Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 6 a.m.

The closing will not affect in-person fall program registration, set to begin for Herndon residents on Aug. 22, as the community center lobby and administrative offices will remain open with limited hours from Aug. 27 - 31. Class registration will continue by mail, online and by phone throughout the cleaning. For more information about the closings or registration times, visit the Herndon town Web site at www.herndon-va.gov or call the community center at 703-787-7300.
