Republican Women of Clifton to feature Chet Nagle, author of the book "Iran Covenant," at April 16 meeting.

The Republican Women of Clifton's (RWC) April general meeting will be held on Monday, April 16, when Chet Nagle, author of the book "Iran Covenant," will speak about the military options the U.S. and Israel face regarding Iran's nuclear weapons program. The event will be at the Centreville High School Media Center. Following refreshments and fellowship at 7 p.m., President Marianne Gearhart will call the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Guests are welcome at no charge.

Naval Academy graduate and Cold War carrier pilot, Chet Nagle flew in the Cuban Missile Crisis and then joined International Security Affairs in the Pentagon as a civilian. Later, as a director of Aeromaritime, he spent 12 years abroad as a businessman and CIA agent in Iran, Oman, and many other countries. He earned his JD degree from Georgetown Law School and founded a geo-political magazine, The Journal of Defense & Diplomacy, with readers in 20 countries. Nagle was awarded the Order of Oman during Oman’s battle with communist Yemen. He is now a writer, speaker, and business consultant.

Donations to the troops will be collected at the RWC April meeting. Priority needs at this time are:

*Caribou coffee (ground, regular, not decaf) - in the pound or smaller size or gift cards which can be used to purchase the coffee. The troops love the coffee, and there is a real need for it since it helps them keep alert when they are out on day-long tactical operations.

*Powdered flavorings for water (such as Crystal Lite, etc.) - individual packets.

*Food such as candy, coffee creamer, chips, cookies, nuts, beef jerky, etc. - individually wrapped if possible.

*Personal hygiene items such as wipes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, hand sanitizer, etc.

*Anything you would like to contribute is appreciated.
