Wednesday/Oct. 31

Halloween Pet Parade. 4-4:45 p.m., at the parking lot by Grandmothers Back Room, 756 Walker Road, Great Falls. Come with a costumed, leashed pet in tow and parade. Judging is at 4:30 p.m., with prizes for special categories; pets must be cleared from area by 4:40 p.m. www.celebrategreatfalls.org/Spook.html.

The Annual Spooktacular. 5-7 p.m., at Great Falls Village Centre Green, 776 Walker Road, Great Falls. Trick-or-treat with area businesses in the heart of town. On Oct. 27 from 3-4 p.m., at Wildfire, 1714 International Drive, McLean. Parents and children carve pumpkins with guidance from Executive Chef Eddie Ishaq and NBC4Weekend Anchor Angie Goff; take home your carved pumpkin and a goody bag and benefit Food for Others. $15 per child. 703-442-9110.

The 25th Annual Fair Oaks Mall-O-Ween. 6-8 p.m., at Fair Oaks Mall, off I-66 at Lee Jackson Memorial Parkway, Fairfax.
