U.S. Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-11) stopped by Herndon on Monday, Jan. 22, and attended this month's Dulles Area Democrats Breakfast held at Amphora Diner Deluxe, 1151 Elden St.
While there, Connolly spoke to attendees about the 2018 midterm elections and the current Government shutdown 2018. Two days earlier, on Jan. 20, Connolly had released the following statement on the shutdown: "Republicans control the White House, the House, and Senate and blame everyone but themselves for this government shutdown. This is reckless, irresponsible and a complete abrogation of their constitutional duty to provide a functioning government. This is a failure of leadership and governance that discredits their legitimacy as a party.”
