Glenstone Museum Opens Outdoors Only

Glenstone Museum will reopen as an outdoor-only experience in a limited capacity on June 4 on visitor days (Thursday-Sunday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.). This decision was made following Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich’s announcement that the county will enter phase one of its reopening plan on Monday, June 1.

The wellbeing of our visitors and associates is our top priority and we have adjusted our visitor experience to include additional safety measures during the coronavirus outbreak. These include:

  • Requiring reservations for all visitors
  • Limiting group sizes to no more than five
  • Offering scheduled visits every 15 minutes to help prevent too many people from arriving at the same time
  • Requiring that all visitors always wear a face covering and stay six feet apart from different households/arrival groups
  • Closing all indoor amenities including bathrooms, water fountains, and food service

A full list of guidelines is available here: https://www.glenstone.org/visit/plan-your-visit/

Tickets will be released in 2-week increments and are currently available through June 14. Tickets will go live at 10 a.m. every Monday beginning June 8.

Visitors are required to schedule visits in advance at https://www.glenstone.org/. Walk-ups will not be accepted and our partnership with the Montgomery County Ride On Bus is temporarily suspended.

Because there are no indoor amenities, experiencing Glenstone during this period will be like a visit to a park – remember that there are no bathrooms, be prepared to spend the entire visit on your feet, bring your own water bottles, check the forecast before you arrive, and carry your garbage out with you.

Details will continue to be updated on the website. Please check https://www.glenstone.org/ for the latest information.
