Waynewood Community Celebrates

July 11, 2002

The annual Fourth of July celebration in the Waynewood Community went off without a hitch over the Fourth. The only difficult part was trying to seize the greased watemelons floating in their community pool.

That activity was just one of many fun things for children to participate in over the holiday. A patriotic parade was also held as children dressed in red, white and blue. Members of Pack 1504 decorated their float and marched. The best costumes with patriotic themes were judged. Kelsey Rosenberg, Taylor Murrin, Ali Johnson, Jennifer Bitzer and Elisabeth Sweet, won second place for embracing the theme, "My Hero," by dressing up as their fathers. Liz Collins and Sally Day dressed as firefighters.
