Alexandria — The annual “Fill the Boot” campaign began last weekend on Thursday, Aug. 30 and ran through Sunday, Sept. 2. Members of the Alexandria Fire Department joined with comrades of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) in soliciting donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The IAFF is the largest national sponsor of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Contributions collected are used for summer camps for the children with the disease, education and public outreach.
