ADAMS Receives Community Leadership Award

All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) received the Community Leadership Award presented on Friday, April 15 by FBI National Director James B. Comey and FBI WFO Assistant Director in Charge Paul M. Abbate. Fifty-six community organizations and leaders from every State across America were recognized including a total of 4 Muslim Organization/Leaders from Washington Field Office (ADAMS), Boston, Memphis, and Los Angeles.

Since 2002, ADAMS has been a key member of the FBI Washington Field Office (WFO) Arab, Muslim and Sikh Advisory Committee and National Community Outreach Partner with FBI HQ and they continue to partner together to protect the nation's safety, responding to hate crimes, and safeguarding civil rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

Community Baby Shower

Girl Scout Troop 6747 of Herndon will hold a Community Baby Shower on Saturday, April 30 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Floris United Methodist Church in Herndon.

They will collect new baby items such as diapers, wipes, onesies, feeding needs, etc. Donations will be given to the Fairfax County Health Department who will distribute the items to low-income families participating in the Home Visiting Program.

The Troop is working toward their Bronze Award project.

Floris United Methodist Church is at 13600 Frying Pan Road, Herndon.
