The Mount Vernon Lee Chamber of Commerce’s Dec. 16 Holiday Business Awards Celebration included recognizing the following: The new business award honors a business that opened in the past year and is achieving success: AdvantaClean Lorton, Manassas, Fredericksburg and owner Dan Derbes. The best small business of the year is Cedar Knoll Restaurant. The best mid-size business of the year is Dominion Surveyors Inc. The non-profit organization of the year is Christian Relief Services. The large business of the year is Andrews Federal Credit Union. The rising star award recognizes someone under 40 who is making significant contributions to the chamber and community. The first recipient of this award is Kimberly Baldy, marketing manager of Springfield Town Center.

The chamber event held a ‘50s contest. The winners were: Channing and Andrew Holden, Cedar Knoll Restaurant; and Jason and Christina Hunt, Roy Rogers Restaurants.
