The Westfield Bulldogs defeated the Oakton Cougars 54-47 on Jan. 6. Westfield enjoyed an early 15-12 advantage after playing one quarter. In the 2nd quarter, the visiting Cougars held the Bulldogs to just 6 points while scoring 11 points to take a 23-21 halftime advantage. The 2nd quarter advantage went back to the Bulldogs after outscoring the Cougars 16-11, to take a 34 lead with a quarter to be played. In the 4th the Bulldogs would again outscore the Cougars 17-12 to seal the game 54-47 for their eighth win in 12 games. Oakton would fall to 10-4 on the season.
Westfield was led by Aaron Opoku and Marshall Reed's 17 points. Jordan Hairston added another 15. Oakton was led by Braeden Johnsons 18 points and Charlie Smith's 11.
