In the light of a full moon, princesses, superheroes and wolves howled with delight. That is, families lined Maple Avenue in their costumes as floats passed by for Vienna’s 72nd annual Halloween Parade. Vehicles promoting local business, handmade wonders, and even giant recreations of the town’s beloved red caboose and Little Library marched down the usually busy main drag. The sides of the road were filled with attendees, dancing, cheering, and enjoying one of Vienna’s oldest traditions. Words like community, tradition, and pride are often used to describe this quintessential storybook small town. The Halloween parade encompasses all of these feelings and more with a community come together to love and celebrate one thing in common, the town of Vienna.
